Below is a selection of design concepts from the project I led to refresh PSCI’s visual identity and create a new, modern and accessible digital experience.
PSCI — the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative — is an industry organisation made up of leading global pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. It was founded to promote sustainability and responsible business practices throughout the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Its key areas of focus include:
Responsible manufacturing: Supporting the sustainable production of pharmaceuticals and medical products.
Ethical business practices: Promoting transparency and integrity throughout the supply chain.
Working conditions: Advancing safe, fair and responsible workplaces.
Environmental protection: Reducing environmental impact through more sustainable practices.
Health and safety: Strengthening health and safety standards for employees.
The challenge
PSCI needed an entirely new digital platform that met the rigorous requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
The platform had to include both a public-facing website and a secure members’ area with advanced collaboration tools for participating pharmaceutical companies. Due to confidentiality, I can only share selected concepts from the public-facing part of the platform.
As Art Director and UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for evolving PSCI’s visual identity and creating a modern digital design system that met accessibility requirements while delivering a clear, intuitive and inclusive user experience.
The process
The project was extensive and developed in close collaboration with the client.
The design needed to communicate credibility and professionalism while making a complex organisation and a large amount of information feel clear, approachable and easy to navigate. Accessibility was treated as a core design principle rather than an afterthought, shaping everything from colour contrast and typography to hierarchy, navigation and interaction patterns.
The result was a cohesive and visually engaging platform designed to work smoothly for a broad international audience.
Presenting the work
One of the highlights of the project was being invited to present the new identity and platform at PSCI’s Annual General Meeting.
The presentation was delivered to senior representatives from several of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
The result
The new platform and visual identity received highly positive feedback from the client, AGM participants and users alike.
The design was praised for its professionalism, accessibility and ease of use, as well as its modern, optimistic visual expression. The result gave PSCI a clearer and more contemporary digital presence; one that better reflected the organisation’s global reach, purpose and ambitions.
